Yes, and... so much more
Improv has always been my first love. I discovered it in third grade, and from that moment on, it became more than just an activity—it became a lens through which I experience the world. What started as playful creativity quickly grew into a lifelong passion, following me through high school with my team, “Oupy 4th Wall Street,” and into college, where I led the improv team “Cool Whip” and developed it into an institutionally funded program.
But improv didn’t just shape me as a performer—it transformed how I connect, communicate, and learn. It taught me to listen deeply, to embrace uncertainty, and to build something meaningful out of the unexpected. Those lessons naturally evolved into a passion for education and community impact.
I channeled that passion into creating “Saturday Morning Live,” an improv-based education program designed to give young people a space to explore creativity, confidence, and collaboration. From there, I brought improv beyond the stage and into the community, working with children to share the same sense of joy, self-expression, and belonging.
Then there was that one time a friend asked me to do improv at her wedding - I forget about that sometimes.
Today, teaching improv is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. At its core is the simple but powerful principle of “yes, and”—a mindset rooted in openness, support, and possibility. It’s not just a performance tool; it’s a way of moving through the world with curiosity, empathy, and courage. Improv isn’t just something I do—it’s foundational to who I am.
