Featured Frosh

Directors Note

Featured Frosh is an initiative created by the Whitworth University Theatre Department to welcome and engage new and transfer theatre students, giving them a platform to share their talents and connect with the broader department community.

The project takes the form of a student-directed cabaret-style evening, featuring a dynamic mix of monologues and fully staged scenes. In this case, the production was co-directed by myself and Alex Stomming, and focused on creating a supportive, collaborative environment where emerging artists could take creative risks and showcase their work.

At its core, Featured Frosh is about building community—offering new students an opportunity to be seen, heard, and celebrated while fostering a sense of belonging within the department from the very beginning.
